'mercy killing' for those who want it.

So Macca and I decided that we wanted to write our english essays here. It was like any test, but we had to write an essay instead, about any of these three subjects: Abortion, Euthanasia, Playing God's role. I chose Euthanasia coz I thought it was easier as all the arguments were in the english book :D (hahha, I can be so lazy sometimes.), but at first I had chosen Playing God's role, as it's an interesting subject to talk about too :). Anyway, here is my essay :D .. hope you like it, understand it, and maybe give an opinion about it and the subject, coz it's becoming one of the many important issues of our days. (if it is not already.) Forgive me if I have too many mistakes in my redaction and ortography :x (it was done in just 90 minutes, and I wrote it down twice!, so consider that xD)...
MACCA, write yours too!!!! :D

'Mercy killing' for those who want it.

_______Nowadays , many cases of euthanasia that have led to a discussion are very common. With today's technology and medical advances, people who are very ill or have been seriously injured have had the chance to live on, when they were supossed to have died. But this life ain't a good one, as it is almost completely artificial. Many of these people then, should have the right to decide whether to continue living or not.
_______Firstly, as suggested above, these patients that are barely living have a poor quality of life. For example, a vegetal patient. All he can do is be lying there on his bed, with a machine living for him, and maybe he's family and one or two friends visiting him once in a while. At least for me, that's not a good life. They suffer a lot as they know they can't do anything and besides, all the physical pain that comes with it. So, as they are the ones who suffer, they should be the ones who decide whether to live or not.
_______And then, all the resources and treatments used on these patients, just to prolong their lives a few days more, are very expensive. It is not that these people don't deserve to have expensive treatments because of their condition, but as they are not patients meant to get better, it is actually not a real benefit for them. And, at the same time, there are lots of other patients with curable diseases that we should take care of and try to give another chance. Therefore the special and expensive should be used mainly on them. It is as bit awful to see it that way, but we all know it is still a fact.
_______On the contrary, people who disagree with giving a patient a 'mercy killing' (euthanasia) say that, for example, to reduce the pain and control it to tolerable levels, you can take some drugs. But isn't that a little bit dependant? I mean, apart from all the machines living for you, you will have also to take some drugs, and, as the sensation they give is addictive, you will start depending on them.
_______And other, typical argument, that people who disagree with this subject give is that we should always try to give chances to live. The chance is given, but you can't call it life when you are, everyday, all day, living by something else living for you, staring to whatever your doctor left you staring at. Or, if you are a coma patient, being there sleeping almost unconsciously.
_______Finally, we have to try to see "life" how these people are seeing it and then think twice, if it is better to continue living or not.

And that's my essay. Exactly how I wrote it for the 'test' (except for two little modifications I did to the words whether and dependant, which I had written as 'wether' and 'depending' instead. Gosh...I HAD to change at least those haha.) Hope you liked it :)

About something else. Today I woke at 7.45 am, like any normal school-day!! Coz I had to give a delayed test of chemistry (that I had delayed since like.... a month ago? o.ô), and so I did it. I think I did it well. I knew pretty much, and well, we don't need to mention the fact that it was almost the same test my whole class had made before, and were given corrected yesterday with all the, obviously, correct answers :D ...just my luck (what a bad movie, btw >.<)
Ok, I dont wanna continue boring you anymore, I've wrote enough, and I'm boring even myself. So goodbye guys, and have a beautiful day wherever you are :**

don't you think I look lovely in the pic? liking my nose? HAHAHHA.

♥ love you guys,
Pau.

Besos! XD Se te quiere, byes!

  2. I think Euthanasia relies of each one of us. I know I'm a fighter, so I think I would be able to live as one of those medical miracles, but, when you're five years in a comma, it doesn't affect just you (in a living dead condition), but also your family and your beloved ones. five years suffering for a person who might never wake up. maybe five years in which your husband would overcome this problem starting a new life. and, if you wake up, you may have nothing else to live for. it is complicated. i think this is like many other subjects like abortion, when you're not only making a choice for yourself, but for someone else. and like all these controversial subject, it is difficult to come to a general solution for everyone. legalise it or not? i don't know, really.
anyway... i can't lick my nose! LOL.
    kisses,
    Cami.

    besitos <3
